Aura is a personal weather app for Spain: free, with no ads and no accounts. If something is not working, or you just have a question, here is how to reach me and the answers to the questions I get most often.

Aura reads the forecast through your own free AEMET OpenData key. Request one below (AEMET emails it to you), then paste it into Settings (Ajustes).

Adding your AEMET keyAñadir tu clave de AEMET
There are two moments to do this: the first time you open Aura (the onboarding shows you the screen automatically), or any time afterwards from Settings. The numbers on each screenshot mark exactly where to tap. These screenshots are from iPhone; on Android it's the same idea, open Settings (the gear, top right) and paste your key under the AEMET key field.
Hay dos momentos para hacerlo: la primera vez que abres Aura (la bienvenida te muestra la pantalla automáticamente) o en cualquier momento después, desde Ajustes. Los números de cada captura marcan exactamente dónde tocar. Estas capturas son de iPhone; en Android es la misma idea: abre Ajustes (el engranaje, arriba a la derecha) y pega tu clave en el campo de la clave de AEMET.

- 1Tap Solicitar mi clave gratis. AEMET's site opens; sign up and they email you a free key. (Prefer to do it later? Pasar, top right, skips this, you can always come back from Settings.)

- 2Copy the key from AEMET's email, come back to Aura, paste it in Pega aquí tu clave and tap Guardar. That's it.

Where does the data come from?¿De dónde vienen los datos?
From official sources: AEMET, Spain's national weather service, for the forecast, the warnings (avisos) and the UV index, and MITECO for air quality.

Do I need an account or a sign-up?¿Necesito una cuenta o registrarme?
No. Aura works with no account, no sign-up and no ads. It collects no personal data.

Do I need an AEMET key?¿Necesito una clave de AEMET?
Yes, and it is free. Aura reads AEMET OpenData through your own key. Request one for free at opendata.aemet.es, then paste it into Settings (Ajustes). It takes a minute, and the app stores the key only on your device.

Can I use Aura without sharing my location?¿Puedo usar Aura sin compartir mi ubicación?
Yes. You can choose your municipality by hand. If you grant location access, the place is matched on your device and only the municipality's public code ever leaves it.
Sí. Puedes elegir el municipio a mano. Si concedes el acceso a la ubicación, la localidad se calcula en tu dispositivo y solo sale de él el código público del municipio.
Why does the UV index say "daily max"?¿Por qué el índice UV dice «máx. hoy»?
AEMET publishes UV as a clear-sky daily maximum, not hour by hour. That is why Aura labels it as the day's maximum rather than the value right now.
AEMET publica el UV como máximo diario con cielo despejado, no hora a hora. Por eso Aura lo etiqueta como el máximo del día y no como el valor de ahora mismo.
Does it work on iPad and Apple Watch?¿Funciona en iPad y Apple Watch?
Yes, with widgets on the Home Screen and Lock Screen, and a complication on the Apple Watch.

Is Aura on Android?¿Está Aura en Android?
Yes, a native phone app, built in Kotlin, with a Home-screen widget. It's coming to Google Play; in the meantime the source is on GitHub. The iPad and Apple Watch extras are iOS-only; on Android it's the phone and its widget.

No. Tips are an optional way to say thank you and unlock no features. Aura is just as complete without them.

Aura has no servers of mine and collects no personal data. You can read the full privacy policy.

How do I delete my data?¿Cómo borro mis datos?
There's nothing on a server to delete, Aura keeps no copy of your data off your device. Uninstalling the app, or clearing its storage, removes the only copy. There's more detail in the privacy policy.
No hay nada que borrar en ningún servidor: Aura no guarda ninguna copia de tus datos fuera de tu dispositivo. Desinstalar la app, o borrar su almacenamiento, elimina la única copia. Tienes más detalle en la política de privacidad.
